Recent outbreaks and continuing spread
WHO recorded the highest dengue burden in history in 2024. Transmission has expanded into new geographical and climatic zones, driven by changing vector distribution, climate conditions, urbanization, travel and vulnerable health systems. From January–June 2026, WHO received reports of about 1.6 million cases and more than 700 deaths from 89 countries and territories; seasonal peaks differ across regions, so partial-year comparisons require caution.
UDD is actively working on dengue & flaviviruses
UDD is using rapid, scalable computational discovery to search broad molecular space and prioritize candidates against flaviviral targets. The program is designed to accelerate the path from molecular possibilities to scientifically prioritized candidates while keeping proprietary discovery methods confidential.
